- Add "Encoding" option for "SearchEngines", you can set up it in Tools->WebBrowser Options->Search. Currently, the only supported encoding is "utf8" and "default". Some search engines need utf8 encoding for keywords, for example: google, msn, answers.com.

Version 1.5.2 (BETA) - October 05, 2005
The key new feature in DE 1.5.2 is the introduction of skins - Deepnet Explorer is now skinnable!
Another key improvement in DE 1.5.2 is that it is now nearly bug free - we have completely rewritten the Content Filter as it was responsible for the most of crash problems.

- Content Filter: Provide a new option to block out flash.
- Java Virtual Machine: Allow to select JVM from different vendors.

- "Allow Popup Window" option is added to tab's right-click menu.

Bug Fixes:

- Some News Watch rules caused the Newsreader to stop working.

- On multiple monitors DE would not maximize if dragged from one monitor to the other.
- AntiPhishing caused crashes on Windows ME.
- In the "Windows" window, selecting "Encoding" caused DE to freeze.
- CTRL+N did not work properly.
- Passing URL to DE in some formats such as "url",p1,p2...pi would fail.

Version 1.5.1 - July 15, 2005
The most exciting update in 1.5.1 is the Phishing Alarm, which is now powered by the industry’s most intelligent and powerful Anti Phishing technology : Behavior Inspection™
The technology does not only rely on the blacklist, it analyzes the actual content of each web page to give a trust rating of the page. The Phishing Alarm can now detect and stop unknown phishing attacks before they happen.
New Features:
- Quick Find - Quick Find displays a Find Bar at the bottom of the page as soon as you press any keystroke, it then finds as you type within the page. If you press the ENTER key, it will then search the Web using the default search engine, or navigate directly to a website if the keyword is an Internet Keyword. Basically, it combines 3 tools in one: Find, Direct Search and Keyword Navigation.
- Supports DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange)
- Start Pages Toolbar
- Drag & Drop support in the address bar.
Bug Fixes:
- The Popup Killer might cause JavaScript error on some web pages.
- Lengthy URL caused DE to crash out.
Version 1.4.1 - March 9, 2005
1.4.1 is a maintenance release that fixes the "News Alert" crash in 1.4.
Bug Fixes:
- Clicking the "News Alert" crashes when the News Reader is running on the background.
- CTRL+ENTER caused the new tab to open in the background when entering a URL in the address bar.
- "External Applications" setting was overwritten by new installation.
Changes:
- ATL+CLICK always opens the link in the current window when "Open links in new window" setting is on.
Version 1.4 - March 1, 2005
Main features in 1.4 are: Web Password Hashing and RSS Auto Subscribe. Please see the release notes below of 1.4 BETA and 1.4 BETA 2 for details.

Version 1.4 (BETA 2) - February 21, 2005
The main feature in 1.4 Beta 2 is to introduce Web Password Hashing to further defend against phishing scams.

Version 1.4 (BETA) - February 09, 2005
While Deepnet Explorer 1.4 has added some new features and fixed several minor bugs, the highlight in this version is the great improvements to the News Reader. For those who are reading RSS news, we highly recommend this new release.

- Support website alias - shortcut name to a website.

Improvements:
- Instead of switching off automatically, Auto Login now displays a warning message on websites on which AutoComplete is switched off. Users may continue to use Auto Login on those websites at their own discretion, unless the owner of the website has requested to disable it.
- Auto Login Manager now displays the so-called switch-off list, allowing users to edit the list.
- The Cookie Filter now works with the Proxy. You can use both at the same time.
- Website certificate is displayed when clicking the SSL lock icon on the status bar.
- The Languages menu now shows installed languages only.
Bug Fixes:
- Auto Login did not work in some framed web pages.
- Cookie Filter caused high CPU usage on some web pages.
- The "Open link in new window" mode caused some web pages to open in multiple windows.
- Some popup windows were not displayed in correct size.
- "Move to Group" did not work properly.
Version 1.3.2 - December 27, 2004
Deepnet Explorer 1.3.2 is another maintenance release with some bug fixes and improvements.

Bug Fixes:
- Proxy server requires authentication.
- Pressing '+' or '>' key closed the current tab.
- If a popup launched by an inactive tab, it caused the focus to be switched to the inactive tab.
Version 1.3.1 - December 13, 2004
Deepnet Explorer 1.3.1 is a maintenance release with a few bug fixes and improvements.
New Features:
- Keyboard Shortcuts: Keyboard shortcut keys can now be customized to any command. Better still, multiple shortcut schemes are also supported.
- Hide Application: Referred by some people as Boss Key, Hide Application enables you to quickly hide the Deepnet Explorer application when you need to protect your privacy.
Improvements:
- Popup Killer and Floating Killer have both been improved to reduce false positive rate.
- News Reader now loads up more quickly.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed the bug in Cookie Filter that caused the preconfigured proxy fail to work.
- Fixed a few minor bugs in the News Reader.
Version 1.3 - December 1, 2004
Deepnet Explorer 1.3 features four new major functions: Phishing Alarm, Floating Killer, Cookie Manager and Tab Group in addition to some improvements and bug fixes.
New Features:
- Phishing Alarm: Detects potential phishing sites and prompt a warning message to the user if a potentially risky and fraudulent website is visited. There are 3 alarm levels which can be set: high, medium and low. By default the alarm level is set to high.
- Floating Killer: Automatically detects and stops floating adverts. By default, the floating killer is not enabled.
- Cookie Manager: Manage stored cookies on your PC and monitor/filter live cookies.
- Tab Group: Organize active tabs in groups. This is useful if you have many tabs open at one time. You can also open an entire folder of favorites as a group, as well as save a group into favorites.
- Drag & drop to re-order tabs.
- Auto resize tabs, so that more tabs can fit on the screen. This feature is an option and can be switched on/off.
- Option to auto load last active pages at startup.
Improvements:
- Enhanced popup killer. The popup killer can now stop dialog popups.
- News alert can be set on an individual channel. This feature is particularly useful if you want to be alerted as soon as important news arrives.
- Renamed "News Filter" to "News Watch", and added "Alert" action to News Watch.
- Renamed "Page Filter" to "Content Filter", and added a comprehensive list of advert filters. By default the content filter is not enabled.
- Renamed "Page Control" to "Content Control".
- Added "Import/Export Favorites and Cookies"

Deepnet Explorer 1.2 is designed to support multiple languages and easy localisation.

- Supports HTTP Conditional Get, which saves bandwidth when checking for news updates.
- Date and time are now formatted by your local settings.

- RSS Auto-Collection can scan web pages for news feeds.

This release fixes all known problems and introduces several new features including Web Page Filter and News Filter that are very effective in blocking or filtering out advertising in web pages as well as in news feeds. We highly recommend that all Deepnet Explorer users install this release.
New Features:
- Web Page Filter. Block out banner ads and flash animations or any web pages that you do not wish to receive.
- News Filter. Advertising is coming to news feeds too! Deepnet Explorer is the first news reader to introduce News Filter to filter out ads from news feeds.
- Auto Discovery. Auto discover links to RSS news feeds as well as Blogrolls.
- Clean Up. Clean up search history, cookies, temporary internet files as well as Auto-Complete history.
- New Options. Options to open new a window with various content; Define how the Close button should work; Restore default browser etc...

- News channel listing now shows the total number of unread messages in each channel and group.
- Deleted news items are prevented from being downloaded again.
- Speed up in various areas including loading up application, favorites and news items.
Bug Fixes:
- Random crashes: When a URL of a news feed contains unsafe characters, the news browser crashed in the process of auto-updating.
- Javascript problem: Web pages with javascript errors caused subsequent pages not to display correctly.
- Cookie problem: On some websites such as ebay.com, cookies got lost.
- Many other minor bug fixes.

Bug Fixes:
- Start-up Problem: On some PCs Deepnet Explorer would hang up or crash at start up, which was caused by a bug in importing IE’s favorites.
- Shut-down Problem: On some PCs Deepnet Explorer would not shut down if users shut down their PCs with Deepnet Explorer still running.
- Uninstaller link in the Add Remove Programs was incorrect.
Improvements:
- Measures added to prevent the root group from being deleted in the News Browser.
